Dear colleagues,
Today we revisit a case we treated 4 months ago involving implant placement after anterior bone reconstruction. You can view the full reconstruction procedure here:
👉 Anterior maxillary bone reconstruction case
The patient had experienced significant horizontal bone loss in the anterior maxilla after many years of wearing a tooth-supported bridge.
Follow-up at 4 months post-reconstruction
Four months after the initial grafting, we reopened the site to evaluate the condition of the graft and proceed with implant placement after anterior bone reconstruction.
We observed excellent graft stability with no signs of resorption. This allowed us to place four implants in distal positions, maintaining ideal spacing and angulation.
The patient requested six anterior teeth, replicating the same configuration as her previous prosthesis. Based on this, we planned the final restoration accordingly.
Final stage and prosthetic referral
After another 4 months of osseointegration, we uncovered the implants and assessed the soft tissue emergence profile. The emergence looked favorable, with healthy mucosa and good volume maintenance.
At this point, we referred the patient to her prosthodontist for the final prosthetic restoration. The result will restore both esthetics and function while maintaining long-term tissue support thanks to the well-executed graft.
