Today we share a clinical case focused on a **connective tissue graft for recessions in thin biotype**. This patient presents a very thin gingival phenotype. In fact, the roots of the teeth are visible through the tissue, and there is a noticeable lack of bone between the teeth.

These types of thin biotypes often pose a challenge in periodontal and implant surgery, as they are more prone to recession, translucency, and poor soft tissue stability over time.

## Tunnel technique and graft placement

In this case, we observed **two gingival recessions**. We decided to treat both using a **connective tissue graft**, harvested from the palate and placed through a **tunnel approach**.

This minimally invasive technique allows for better preservation of the blood supply, less trauma, and a more esthetic result, particularly important in patients with high smile lines or delicate soft tissue balance.

The goal was to cover the exposed root surfaces and thicken the soft tissue, ultimately improving both function and esthetics. This also helps prevent further progression of the recession and increases tissue stability in the long term.

## Clinical outcome

The graft was successfully positioned and adapted under the gingival margin. Over time, we expect a significant improvement in both tissue thickness and coverage of the previously exposed root surfaces.

This case demonstrates how effective the **connective tissue graft for recessions** can be, especially when dealing with challenging thin biotypes.
