Several months ago, we treated a challenging case involving both a **perforation of the Schneiderian membrane** and **absence of the buccal bone plate**. You can review the original surgical procedure here:
👉 [Sinus membrane perforation and buccal bone defect case](http://www.dlcirugiaoral.com/complicaciones-perforacion-membrana-de-schneider-ausencia-de-tabla-vestibular/)

To address the complications, we sutured the membrane and used a **titanium mesh** to stabilize the regeneration of the missing buccal bone plate.

## Clinical follow-up of regeneration and sinus lift surgery

Four months later, the patient returned for the second stage of treatment involving gingiva former placement. Although asymptomatic overall, she reported local irritation, prompting us to explore the site surgically.

Upon reentry, we observed excellent integration. The **mesial implant**, initially surrounded by bone loss, now appeared fully embedded in regenerated bone. The interface between the graft and the native bone was indistinguishable. A newly formed buccal plate was clearly present.

Additionally, the lower boundary of the **Cadwell-Luc sinus lift access** was no longer visible, indicating effective remodeling and bone coverage.

## Final steps and prosthetic phase

To resolve the irritation, we removed part of the titanium mesh that was causing discomfort. The site remained stable and well-integrated.

We then referred the patient to our prosthodontist colleagues to begin the final prosthetic phase of the treatment.
